Why a Touch of Whimsy is Good for Your Home

Posted by Natul Middlebrook on

Okay—so maybe I’ve used the word “whimsical” too much this week, but the word seems to work for Bob Goff and come on, everyone loves him and he loves everyone! And the word “whimsy” just sounds fun and light and magical and we could use a little of all three in or lives, right?

That was the very word that came to mind when we designed the Arc de Ciel in Haiti. I love the metal art there but sometimes it gets a little too folksy and primitive for my taste so I was ecstatic when the metal artisans from Croix de Bouquet were game for coming up with a sweet little rainbow. We added the cord tassels, a splash of color and there we had it—WHIMSYYYYYYY.

If whimsy is good for our souls, then surely a touch of it is good for the walls of our home. How about this this dreamy photo of this room spirited with rainbow goodness.

But rainbows aren’t limited to little girl rooms-how about this WHIMSICAL way to welcome the people you love (and those you don’t)? This is the perfect way to lighten the mood of anyone who darkens your doorstep. Your house can be traditional, modern, simple, whatever---a little splash of color looks good on every style.
