Did you know that over 100 million dollars are donated to orphanages in Haiti every year? Wowza, right?   While we recognize that many of these institutions are legitamitely trying to meet the basic needs of children, it is going to take so much more than basic needs being met to stop the cycle of orphanhood in Haiti.    It is going to take a HOUSE that provides education, discipleship, life skills and vocational training to young people. Three Reasons Why Job Creation MUST Be a Part of the HUGG Mission
In light of the current crisis in Haiti, I was asked why we didn’t just let go of the business-side of HUGG and function like a traditional non-profit. We could stop the hemorraging of problems brought on by trying to run production in a very unstable country. We could highlight our Teens in Transition programming, the heart behind our work, and raise funds to ensure their success. Afterall, we would still be equipping and empowering young orphaned men so that they can break the cycle of orphanhood.

Did You Know Haiti is in Crisis?

  A few days ago, I was working on my computer beside my bedroom window and was overwhelmed with a feeling of irony.
